Beef Wellington

Better late than never.  I am finally getting around to posting our Valentine’s Day meal… it’s just taken me awhile to get around to doing it.  Sometimes life just gets in the way, if you know what I mean.


For Valentine’s Day we like doing something special.  So this year we bought some good looking rib cap steaks from Costco.  I seasoned and seared the steak, then put some pate, and mushrooms on top… then wrapped it in puff pastry.  I even put little heart details on top.  I glazed it with an egg wash and baked it at 400F for 12 minutes.

I served it with mushroom cream sauce, haricot verts, and roasted potatoes.

It was a meal worthy of Valentine’s Day… and better than it looked.   I love it when that happens.
